Motorcycle Road Tours

On this 4 day/3 night tour you'll experience and enjoy the Historic Gold Rush Mining Towns within California's Mother Lode and the Historic Silver Mining Towns within Nevada. You'll ride in and around these towns which are rich in 1800's history. The scenic highways and country back roads take you past old ranches, scenic lakes, rivers, deep canyons and thick forests within the Sierra Nevada Mountains. You'll begin your tour out of Hollister, CA on two-lane country back roads along the Diablo Range, crossing Central California's agricultural valley towards the southern Sierra Nevada Foothills. The Foothills are full of wonderful back road riding winding around small towns and crystal blue lakes located at the 3,000+ elevation. You'll enjoy an interesting side trip which takes you to the geographical center of California . The tour also takes you along portions of Historic Highway 49 past small gold rush towns. You'll ride on and off this historic corridor on more ribbon-like back roads within the foothills.

The tour will include Sierra Nevada Mountain Passes from California to Nevada offering spectacular views and fun riding. One of the passes you'll ride is Ebbett's Pass at the 8,730 ft. elevation with its scenic overlooks, alpine-styled lakes and twists and turns making for a fun roller coaster ride. You'll ride along river canyons, riding past recreational communities and stopping at another quaint town deep in the mountains with history all its own. The tour continues into Nevada towards the silver mining town of Carson City where you'll have fun trying to find some gold and silver of your own. You'll enjoy the ride to the ever popular silver mining town of Virginia City, overlooking the most awesome Nevada landscape. You'll stop and explore this historic town where the sound of the old wooden sidewalks will make you feel like you've stepped back into the 1800's era. More gold and silver are awaiting in the small casinos there.

The tour turns back up and over the Sierra Nevada Mountain range to beautiful Lake Tahoe where the blue waters and mountain peaks are spectacular. You'll continue over two more beautiful mountain passes. The Luther and Kit Carson Passes await for your ride back into California's Gold Country. The last day of the tour takes you north up along Highway 49 past more Gold Rush Towns as well as country back roads through the Shenendoah Valley, known for their Sierra Wineries. More Gold Rush towns await, such as Placerville, Grass Valley and Nevada City .

ACCOMMODATIONS

Your accommodations are within two unique and historic hotels in Gold Country built in the 1800's, with plenty of 19th century charm, as well as a Nevada hotel/casino in an historic silver mining town. Rooms are double occupancy and will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. If you'd like to room with another solo rider of the same gender in a room that has two beds, a discount may apply, if available. All rooms are designated non-smoking. There will be outside areas for smokers. You'll have a lot of fun riding the variety of elevations from low valley to mountain high passes. It's a truly fun tour with lots of scenic country back roads and highways in and around California and Nevada. Don't forget your camera for the great photo ops! A $500.00 deposit per person is required to reserve your spot. Upon receipt of your deposit, you will receive confirmation via e-mail. Upon full payment, a tour packet will be mailed out to you which will include detailed information as to the time and place where the group will meet and end, hotel information including meals, a tour map, a tour itinerary and a welcome gift.
